A favor, please
If you read my last post about the Next Generation of Young Women Responsible Sexuality and Soccer Program that I am coordinating, you already have a good idea of how wonderful it is…
Edit: I added some actual data, and to make this a less cumbersome request, I made this. All you have to do is click some buttons and tap some keys.

This was the final match between Fond Rouge Dayere and Marfranc. I am the girl on the left’s number one fan.
Here’s another interesting fact. We’ve been tracking pregnancy rates for girls who were in and were not in the program, which can be shown in this graph. The girls’ league is only when they are out of school in July and August. During the rest of the year they have school, and a week-long Responsible Sexuality training session. However! They’ve all expressed an interest in continuing to play soccer during the rest of the year, both to prepare for the season and to give them some healthy alternative activities to do (further preventing early pregnancies).
As is unfortunately often the case, they often lack the resources to do so. If you can spare $15 and want to buy the girls a ball, or some cleats, please do! We are also looking for team sponsorships—if your school or town’s soccer team/league wants to donate a set of lightly used uniforms or cleats, we’d really appreciate it! Looking like a team really goes a long way in validating the girls’ desire to play soccer, often considered “boys’ business.” If you’re interested (or know of someone who may be) in sponsoring a team, shoot me an email at david@haitianhealthfoundation.org. If you have some stuff you want to donate, send it to:
HHF Next Generation of Healthy Women
97 Sherman Street
Norwich, CT 06360-4105
Or! More simply, you can purchase something off of this Amazon wishlist I set up and it will be sent there automatically. We really appreciate anything you can do! If you have anymore questions, send me an email. The Responsible Sexuality Training started this week, and I’ll be sure to update you in November when I spend a week at a session. Thanks!!
